In the 60's Heater was owned by Norlin, the same company that owned Gibson. Whats the oldest guitar you own Carved spruce top and Eastern hardrock. I actually have a newspaper article from the 40's at home about the company. It was born February 28th making it now over 40 years old. They were value instruments that allowed a kid like me without much money to have a nicer instrument to play. I worked in a music store in Portland when I was younger and I just counted, I owned four Lyle guitars over the years, I still own one. Here are three current auctions for the same instrument with different trim and brand name: There are generally a dozen or so for sale.

Weekly they fail to sell on eBay with many brand names and some with no brand name. We have one member that had one of these as his first mandolin and says it served him well. They were laminated as far as I've ever seen. These were brought in from Japan and Korea for decades with different brand names on them. There are still gems to be found, on eBay or Reverb for example, and a lot of these auctions are genuine, but some of these lawsuit guitars for sale are not. Over the years they imported a whole lot of instruments with that brand name on it, some interesting and some not so interesting. He might still be running it I don't know, I no longer live in the area. A Pawn Shop however would only offer you approximately 50 to 75 of the above value depending upon how well you can d-i-c-k-e-r (dang profanity filter) with them. The resale value of this guitar via a private sale would be between 325.00 and 400.00 USD. Lyle Heater ran the company through the late 50's and 60's, and well into the 70's. Lyle's were manufactured in Japan between between 19. Lyle is a brand name that was owned by the L.D. Any information would be greatly appreciated, thank you. What I can't find is wether it is solid, laminate, or hybrid. I found that it has a spruce top, maple back and sides, and maple neck w/rosewood fretboard.

If you’re looking to get into these vintage Japanese guitars, Matsumoku models are always a good place to get your feet wet! Mike Dugan loved this particular model, even though the frets were vintage Japanese tiny, and the pickups read out a little weak, sometimes a guitar just has a little chime and zing, and this one had it.I have recently bought a Lyle LM-200 mandolin, and have found very little information on the instrument's construction. The all-telling Matsumoku plate is back there and the neck pockets on all their guitars were really solid.

Dano at Happy Guitar Repair knows how to rebuild these switches, and it’s just about the only way to bring them back to life. They just weren’t made to withstand constant use and almost always fail. They did some great, burst finishes! But one weak point on all these Matsumoku electric guitars were the pickup switches. Bodies and necks were always top notch and their finishes hold up better than the average import guitar. Most Matsumoku guitars were made rather well, especially the wood parts.

Most, but not all of the electric models were made by Matsumoku. From here, you can make additions or subtractions to the value based on damages, imperfections, and after-market additions to the instrument. They had some cool electric models here and there and seemed to really focus on acoustic guitars back in the day. When appraising your guitar, the first place to begin is the average market value of the guitar. Heater Music Company out of Beaverton, Oregon. According to Metheny, this yielded mixed results. The album represented the most collaborative writing session between Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays up to that point in the bands history. American Garage is the second album by the Pat Metheny Group, released in 1979 on ECM Records. I think the hotter reading pickups came from the later 60s era. Pat Metheny - 1979 1985 'American Garage'. Some of these read out near 9k, and some read out under 5k, so obviously the specs changed over the years. I’ve measured about 10 of these pickups, and the reading are often all over the place. Has a cool shape too! These pickups were exclusive to Matsumoku and generally have a good sound. Most of the time I see these guitars with chrome or tortoiseshell pickguards, and this is the first one I’d seen with a white guard. They were low end guitars in the 70s and I believe you can do much better for that with even a new Alvarez, Epiphone or other brand. That’s a good run! Based on my research this particular model probably dates from the late 60s. Walk away Not that it is a bad guitar, but new I dont believe it sold for that price. This model with these pickups were made for many years, starting around 1966 through the early 70s. This guitar is a good example of the late 1960s Matsumoku made imports that were flooding the Americas.
